Biltong Storage And Handling Tips
- Room Temperature: Keep your biltong in a bowl or container for a few days. Toss occasionally or cover the bowl to allow airflow.
- Brown Paper Bag: Using a brown paper bag will help it dry faster if you like a firmer texture.
- Fridge or Freezer: Store in a container in the fridge for longer freshness, or freeze if not ready to eat. Let it thaw properly before enjoying.
- Extra Tips:
Wet Biltong Alert: Open the bag as soon as possible after purchase if it’s slightly moist. - Avoid Sealing Too Long: Keeping it sealed for 1–2 days can cause mould. Biltong needs air circulation to stay fresh.
Safe Snacking: Properly handled, your biltong stays delicious and ready to enjoy.
